Well, that's all for the coverage of this game. As usual it was a pleasure bringing you the live updates of this thrilling encounter. Till the next time, it's a ta-ta and a goodnight from me, Arjun Bhalla and my co-commentators, Akshay Bhide and Anurag Dasgupta.
Shikhar Dhawan | Winning Captain: All our boys, most of them have played earlier. They're very matured. Very happy with the way they played. Knew that wicket has a bit of turn but the way our spinners bowled from 10th over, they got us back straightaway. All three spinners. When we batted, it was great to watch from the other end. Great strength to have them. The way the young boys play IPL, get so much exposure, their confidence level is very high. The way Prithvi and Ishan batted, they finished the game in first 15 overs. I thought about it (his hundred) but there were not many runs left. So the focus was on being not out. Even when Surya came in and batted, it looked so easy. I was like maybe I have to improve my skill.
Dasun Shanaka | Losing Captain: Started well but they varied the pace well. Our batsmen couldn't get the rhythm going. Way Indian players played, they're very aggressive. We all know how good they are but our bowlers need to improve. Have to execute our plans well.
Prithvi Shaw: It's fine now (about the blow to the helmet). Rahul sir didn't say anything, I just went with my instinct and waited for the loose balls. Obviously wanted to keep scoreboard ticking and yeah. Pitch was very nice. First innings also was good but I think it got better in the second innings. Enjoy pace. Maybe after being hit on the head I lost a bit of focus.
Unacademy Man of the Match goes to Prithvi Shaw.
Presentation time now.
Arjun: Meanwhile, Dhawan played a second fiddle, first to Shaw and then for Kishan. However, the Indian skipper upped his strike rate when Manish Pandey came to the middle. The experienced duo stitched a 72-run stand, where both the batters were smoking the bowlers for odd boundaries and were rotating the strike too. Although when things were looking perfect, Pandey holed de Silva to Shanaka at short mid-wicket. Manish’s wicket allowed Suryakumar Yadav to bat on his debut. SKY and the skip shared a beaten stand of 48 runs for the fourth wicket, where SKY crunched a couple of amazing boundaries, while the skipper nailed the victory run.
Arjun: Post the Shaw show, it was the birthday boy, Ishan Kishan who joined the Indian skipper in the middle. The pocket-sized southpaw began his ODI debut with a huge six and followed it up with a boundary. The debutant followed the Shaw style and went behind the Lankan bowlers, especially the spinners. Kishan was in beast mode from the word go. He might have edged few or gave a couple of chances to the Islanders, but there was no stopping for the 23-year-old. Kishan became the second-fastest man to score a fifty on ODI debut but soon edged Sandakan to the keeper on 59.
Arjun: The 21-year-old opener started India’s run tally with a second-delivery boundary and repeated the feat on the very next ball and repeated the wonder throughout his quickfire knock of 43 runs. Shaw went behind the new-ball bowlers and batted in a scintillating manner. However, he got a Chameera bouncer on his helmet, which broke his concentration. After the break, the Mumbai boy faced his next ball off de Silva and that became his last for the night.
Arjun: The chase was just a formality. The talking point was how early would India take to get to the target, the visiting derby has chased the mere target of 263 runs in 36.4 overs. This new-looking Indian side wasn’t just filled with new faces, but with a new mantra. The mantra for the new India was “hit from the word go”, it was what young pair of Prithvi Shaw and Ishan Kishan did.
A clinical win for the second-string Indian side as they take a 1-0 lead, after winning this game by seven wickets.
36.4 L Sandakan to S Dhawan
1 That's the end of the match and India have won this match comprehensively by 7 wickets. A thorough professional performance from the men in blue. It was a fuller length delivery and Dhawan comes on the frontfoot and pushes the ball in front of the covers to steal a single and win the game for his nation.
36.3 L Sandakan to S Yadav
1 Flicks the slower length delivery down to long on to take a single. Scores are level.
36.2 L Sandakan to S Yadav
0 Flighted delivery on the middle and leg. SKY misses the glance and gets clipped on the thigh pad..
36.1 L Sandakan to S Dhawan
1 Taps the flipper on the off side in front of the cover-point fielder and Dhawan will sneak in a quick single..

35.6 W Hasaranga to S Yadav
0 Another short delivery outside the off. SKY gets hold of his square cut, but he simply can't pierce the gap past backward point.
35.5 W Hasaranga to S Dhawan
1 Knocks the length delivery to long on to settle for a single. 3 more runs needed.
35.4 W Hasaranga to S Yadav
1 A little shimmy down the track and SKY drills it down to long on to exchange ends with the skip.
35.3 W Hasaranga to S Yadav
0 Short and wide, width offered. SKY goes back and cuts it ferociously, but can't beat the man at point.
