So that's goodbye from me, Anurag, and my partner Sourya Chowdhury from the comm box. Do join us tomorrow for The Hundred and the second Test between England and India. Good night and take care!!
Quinton de Kock: We needed this win, an important game for us, glad to get over the line. I wasn't getting much of a chance [in the Powerplay] but I kept going on that wicket, patience was needed there. Nice to get over the line and get some runs and get the team a win. Enjoying my cricket in a new format, new country, new team-mates. We read the wicket and play the situation quite well.
Quinton de Kock bags the Player of the Match award for his fantastic knock of 57 unbeaten off 32 deliveries.
Time for the post-match presentation.
Southern Brave started the run chase on the right foot. Stirling came out all guns blazing but he was dismissed in just the second set of 5 after a quickfire cameo at the top. Vince followed Stirling’s footsteps and took the charge to the Fire bowlers and was evenly supported by Quinton de Kock. Vince fell prey to the young gun from Afghan but he did his part with a crucial 53 run knock. Quinton de Kock shifted gears after gears and brought on his half-century off just 29 balls, leading the Brave towards the victory with an unbeaten 56 off 31 balls.
The Fire started the innings on a high as Tom Banton was striking the ball over the park but they will be disappointed with the final total. At one stage they looked set to get somewhere close to 160-170, but they lost three wickets in the middle period and lost the momentum. Phillips and du Plooy resurrected the innings but they are surely short by 20 runs. Mills and Jordan were once again brilliant with their variations and yorkers at the death giving just 25 runs off the last 20 balls, not allowing them to cross the 150-mark.
And with that, Southern Brave chase the challenging total quite comfortably with 8 wickets and 13 balls remaining. All thanks to the skipper, James Vince, and Quinton de Kock who stole the show from the start till the end of the chase with Alex Davies hitting the winning runs for the Brave. With this victory, the Brave move on to the top spot on the points table.
