Sourya: With this win, the Sixers go top of the pile with 25 points and face the other Sydney side, Thunder in an epic battle next. The Heat drop one more after showing resurgence and they remain stuck in sixth. Next they face the Renegades. That's it for the coverage of this BBL game today, I Sourya Chowdhury, will now take your leave on behalf of myself and my fellow commentators Arjun Bhalla and Akshay Bhide. See you soon.
Player of the match: Dan Christian. Here is what he had to say after it. "We certainly didn't want it to get that close. But they bowled really well. I just said to Jacko I'll take the strike and hopefully he misses and luckily he did. I still love it. I just love winning. Apart from one innings earlier in the season I haven't really delivered this season."
Sourya: Wildermuth, Mujeeb and Bazley all got two wickets a piece and nearly took their team over the line, but it was not to be.
Sourya: The Sixers had some trouble in the chase of 150 early on after losing wickets, but Christian skipper Dan Hughes, who also got a fifty, seemed to have settled it early with them really powering through the Power Surge, before all hell broke loose and wickets fell at a canter. From needing 20 off 20, they nearly lost it and had to rely on Christian's magical blade to get over the line in the last over. They also rode their luck through drop catches and impossible twos, but in the end, they held their nerves to win a vital game.
Sourya: Carlos Brathwaite was the pick of the bowlers for the Sixers, keeping it tight and steady to pick up figures of 4/18. Everyone was disciplined with the ball for the team and only Chrisian got hit a bit while Jake Ball also got three scalps.

Sourya: The Sixers were set a target of 150 by the resurgent Heat after they were put into bat by the former. The Heat never really got going on the face of some tight bowling and a pitch where some balls held up and some went through fast. They reached a competitive total thanks to a watchful 50 by captain Chris Lynn and some lusty blows later by Lewis Gregory.
Sourya: Sometimes, low-scoring thrillers leave you wanting more. This BBL game between the Sixers and Heat was one such crazy match. In the end, courtesy a brilliant 61 not out from 38 deliveries from the mercurial Dan Christian, took the Sixers home by three wickets and got them back on track in the tournament.
19.6 Xavier Bartlett to Daniel Christian
4 FOUR and Daniel Christian takes the SIXERS HOME!! WHAT A MATCH, WHAT A KNOCK, WHAT A PLAYER!!!! Full toss ball, on the leg stump, a BAD... BAD BALL and Christian punishes it by flicking it towards the vacant fine leg region for FOUR RUNS and the SIXERS WINS THE GAME by 3 WICKETS and TAKES THE TOP POSITION ON THE POINTS TABLE
Sourya: I think Christian won't let this one go now.
Akshay: A team meeting going on in the middle for Heat. Are we up for a Super Over?
Sourya: Backing Christian. What a player.
19.5 Xavier Bartlett to Daniel Christian
2 Length ball outside off, Daniel Christian drives it and the man at mid-off dives to stop the ball, Dan runs for a run and goes for another one, the fielder throws it straight to the keeper who dislodges the stumps but the batter is safe in, the long dive has saved him
Akshay: Has Wildermuth dropped the match? We'll wait and see
Sourya: This is such a humdinger Akshay, I was transfixed by the action. Can't take a call man.
19.4 Xavier Bartlett to Daniel Christian
2 A brace, IN THE AIR and the man at third man drops the catch, Dan slices up over point, Wildermuth runs in from the deep and goes to ground a bit too early I think. Slides forward, gets both hands on it but can't hold on
