So that's all folks from the rain-marred encounter. Tomorrow we have the first-ever overseas pink ball Test for the Indians and it should be a fascinating contest. The BBL action continues from 19th with Hobart Hurricanes slated to play against the Melbourne Renegades. Till the next time, tata from me, Arya Sekhar Chakraborty and my fellow commentators Akshay Bhide and Kingshuk Kusari
Arya: There was a great comeback from the Scorchers on the back of a scintillating knock from the blade of Ashton Turner. His whirlwind knock of 39 came in just 17 deliveries which included 5 maximums. He provided the much-needed momentum as Scorchers looked well set to score 185 in their 20 overs. However, rain gods had other ideas and no play was possible for more than an hour and eventually their innings ended on 158/6 in 127 overs.
Arya: Earlier in the day it was Melbourne Stars who won the toss and opted to field. The Perth Scorchers lost their opening wicket early but it was Colin Munro and Joe Clarke who shared a good stand between them which steadied the ship. They scored at a good clip and struck some exquisite shots in the process. Liam Hatcher removed Joe Clarke and Mitchell Marsh in back to back deliveries to peg back Scorchers.
Arya: So a pretty disappointing end to what could have been an intense run chase even for those 6 overs. Just as the Melbourne Stars came out to bat it started raining and after the completion of the opening over, the umpires had to intervene and abandon the match and the rain started pelting down again.
Akshay: It's a shame that we couldn't complete the match. But it was fun watching the game.
Arya: So the rain is tumbling down and the match has been abandoned, the players are shaking their hands and its all over for the match
1.1 Jhye Richardson to Marcus Stoinis
W WICKET!!!! back of a length nipping back into Stoinis, he is no position to play the shot, strikes him in the back pad and the umpire has no hesitation in ruling in favour of the bowling team, little leg sidish and naked eye suggested it could have missed the leg stump, a close call
Akshay: The runs are flowing and the rain is getting heavier. Hope we finish the 6 overs

0.6 Joel Paris to Andre Fletcher
4 FOUR!!!!! finally the boundary has come for the over, thrashes this fuller delivery down the cover region and finds the gap, showers have returned again
0.5 Joel Paris to Andre Fletcher
0 swing and a miss, back of a length delivery from Joel Paris, Spiceman goes for a hoik down the leg side, doesnt make any contact
0.4 Joel Paris to Marcus Stoinis
1 fuller delivery on the leg side, Stoinis whips this down the midwicket region rather uppsihly for a single
0.3 Joel Paris to Andre Fletcher
1 full toss on the pads, Fletcher unable to find the gap, hits it straight to the short fine leg fielder for a single
0.2 Joel Paris to Marcus Stoinis
3 Three, angling down the leg side and Stoinis flicks this down the fine leg region for a three
0.1 Joel Paris to Andre Fletcher
1 flicks the back of a length delivery on the leg stump down square leg for a single to open the account of Melbourne Stars
Fletcher and Stoinis have come out to open. Joel Paris to start for Scorchers
Kingshuk: How badly will Scorchers be kicking themselves for taking that Power Surge late.
Akshay: So the rain has finally stopped and the covers are coming off. It will be a 6-over game. And the target for Stars is 76. This will be an interesting chase.
Akshay: Munro fell short of his fifty as he holed out in the deep and then the Scorchers fell off-track in the innings. They failed to end the innings on a high and the Stars were brilliant in the field overall. Once the rain stops, they will have a revised target. For now the wait continues. Stay tuned for the updates.
