Player Bio

The current skipper of the Omani national cricket team, Zeeshan Maqsood is an aggressive opening batsman and slow left-arm spinner. Since his professional debut for Oman back in July 2015, Zeeshan has been one of the leading run-scorers for his side, scoring over 1500 runs across all domains.

After making his professional debut, just 2 weeks later, Zeeshan was internationally capped by Oman to play a T20I against Afghanistan on July 25th, 2015. Slowly progressing through the ranks, the 33-year-old was named as the captain of the Oman national team to lead them in the 2019 World Cricket League Division Two.

Zeeshan’s moment of fame came in February 2020, when he smacked the US bowler’s all over the park and scored his first century in ODI cricket, with 109 runs. Selected as the skipper of Oman’s side for the 2021 T20 World Cup, he plays a vital role in leading them to the Super 12s and taking Oman cricket to new heights.
