Player Bio

Angelo Perera was one of the brightest young talents in Sri Lankan cricket, but he failed to replicate his domestic performance at the international level.

A batting all-rounder by profession, Perera was a part of the Sri Lankan U-19 side between 2007-09 and his performances were closely monitored by the national selectors.

Perera actually caught the attention when he slammed a brilliant 244 for Nondescripts Cricket Club against Sri Lanka Airforce Sports Club during the 2009-10 domestic season. He shared a 405 run partnership alongside Jehan Mubarak and that was the highest fourth-wicket stand in a first-class game in Sri Lanka.

After years of performing at the domestic level, Perera was handed his debut cap when Bangladesh toured Sri Lanka in 2013. He made his debut in the only T20I match on that tour and conceded 17 runs in the only over that he bowled.

In the very same year, the dynamic all-rounder made his ODI debut against South Africa and could only score 1 run under his belt.

He last played for Sri Lanka in 2019 and since then has been out of the side due to poor form.
