Player Bio

Mallaweeraarachchilage Tharika Sewwandi is a Sri Lankan cricket player representing the women's team. Born on July 18, 2000, this youngster is a left-arm medium fast bowler and left-handed batter. She has played for Colts Cricket Club Women (CCCW) and was also part of Combined Girls School's team. 

In January 2019, she was chosen for their series against South Africa (SA) for Sri Lanka's squad. The young talent made her debut for Sri Lanka in Women's One Day International (WODI) against the South African team on February 17, 2019. Sewwadi played her debut T20I match on January 20, 2022, against the Kenyan team in Kuala Lumpur. 

In January 2019, she was selected for the Sri Lankan team for the Women's Cricket Tournament (WCT) at the 2019 edition of the South Asian Games (SAG). However, Bangladesh won the finale by two runs, and the Lankan team had to satisfy with the silver medal.

Lankan player did her schooling from Viharamahadevi B.V, Colombo 10. In October 2021, she was named for SL's squad for the 2021 season of the Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier tournament in Zimbabwe. Continuing her streak, Sewwandi was named to Sri Lanka's team in January for the 2022 edition of the Commonwealth Games Cricket qualifier tournament (CGW) in Malaysia.
