The Rawalpindi-born veteran, Khurram Nawaz is a watchful middle-order batsman for the Omani cricket team who moved to Oman from Pakistan in search of first-team opportunities. His talent and skills were hard to ignore by the selectors that earned him his maiden callup to the Oman squad for their T20I series against the Netherlands in January 2017.
On his T20I debut, Nawaz played a decent cameo batting lower down the order, scoring 26 runs off 18 deliveries but ended up on the losing side. Two years later, he made his ODI debut when Oman gained the ODI status in April 2019 and has been a first-team regular since. Prior to the 2021 T20 World Cup, the 35-year old was named in Oman’s squad for the coveted tournament and he would be looking to make the most of any opportunities in the twilight of his career.
