Born in Greece and raised in Italy and Singapore, Farrant moved to England at a very young age. A left-arm medium-pace bowler, Farrant started playing cricket for Kent in 2012 and has represented England in U-19 tournaments.
An injury to Katherine Brunt resulted in Farrant receiving her maiden international call-up in the T20I series against Pakistan. She made her T20I debut in the first match of the series and returned with figures of 2 for 15.
The young pacer was included in the 2013/14 Ashes squad and was the youngest member of the England team that won the Ashes down under.
In April 2014, she became the youngest player to be awarded the central contract by the England Cricket Board.
Farrant was completely left out of the squad for the next two years, and an injury to Katherine Brunt allowed her to make a comeback in the national setup. Farrant was named in the England squad for the 2016 Women’s World T20 but did not feature in any of the matches.
She was also part of the 2018 World T20I squad for England, but just like the previous edition she was not part of the playing XI and did not make a single appearance in the tournament.
The Greece born player was selected in the England squad for the ODI series against New Zealand in February 2021. She played in the first ODI match and registered 2 wickets to her name.
Spotted at a very young age, Farrant was touted by many as the future of English cricket. Though she has failed to live up to that tag, the speedster has ample time to polish her game and make a strong comeback into the national setup once again.
