Faye Tunnicliffe

Faye Tunnicliffe is a pure wicketkeeper hailing from South Africa. She came in as a replacement for Trisha Chetty. The youngster is a prospect under process when it comes to the role behind the stumps. However, she is regarded as the future of the Proteas. 

Tunnicliffe started off the sport at the school level as she loved diving around to keep the ball. However, her interest shifted towards fast-bowling and she played the Under-19 as a pacer.

In 2018, she represented the South African Under-19 team during the tri-series involving Australia U19 and England Academy. A couple of months later, she was named in the West Indies tour in 2018, this time around as a wicket-keeper. Later she was added to South Africa's squad for the 2018 World Twenty20 to replace an injured Trisha Chetty. 

She made her T20I debut against West Indies but played the entire World T20 as a pure batter. In February 2019, Tunnicliffe first time wore the wicket keeping gloves for her national side against Sri Lanka, where she did impressive work behind the stumps. 

Later that month, Cricket South Africa named her in the Powerade Women's National Academy. In September, she got placed in the Devnarain XI squad for the inaugural edition of the Women's T20 Super League. The youngster was also part of the South African squad for the 2020 World T20, held in Australia, where Tunnicliffe worked in close quarters with Chetty. 

With Chetty still playing for South Africa, the young Tunnicliffe could learn a lot from the senior pro, before becoming a future star of the Proteas.
