Oshadi Ranasinghe

Hailing from Colombo, Oshadi Udeshika Ranasinghe has been the rock of the Sri Lankan bowling attack for almost a decade. 

Oshadi wanted to serve the air force, but was inclined towards cricket and joined the Sri Lankan air force Sports Club Women.

The Lankan lioness' ODI debut was against the West Indies Women at Fatullah, in a high-intensity semi-final match of the 2011 ICC Women's World Cup Qualifier. She dented the Windies' top order with figures of 2/31 but wasn't enough to push the island nation into the final. 

The bowling-all-rounder made her T20I debut in her hometown in 2013, against West Indies. She is the fourth highest wicket-taker for Sri Lanka Women's in T20Is.

In 2019 at Potchefstroom, the Lankan #86 knocked some prominent South African giants in quick succession and ended with her best ODI figures of 3/41, the joy soon turned bittersweet when she got out hit-wicket, as Lanka fell short by 7 runs.

The southpaw is known to tonk the ball neatly lower down the order. England Women were victims of it in 2019 at Hambantota, her unbeaten 51, still stands as the highest ODI score by a female cricketer while batting at 9.

The 36-year-old cricketer featured in the Commonwealth Games at Birmingham and will be in action again during the 2022 Women's T20 Asia Cup.
