Player Bio

A cricketer to an AFL player, Delissa Kimmince has truly been an all-rounder. Kimmince came into the sport as a child virtuoso in 2009 but took a break a couple of times to try her hand in a few professions.

Kimmince made her debut as an 18-year-old prodigy with a reputation of a tearaway speedster and Cricket Australia used her well during the World Cup, held on home soil, in 2009. Soon afterwards, the teenager took a break from cricket to work at the Princess Louise pub in London. During her stay in the UK, she used to swing her hand by playing for Warwickshire.

After a couple of years, she returned to Australia for the 2012-13 season, before making a comeback in the national side in 2014. This time around as a polished all-rounder who opens both with bat and ball. Later, Kimmince was picked for the 2015 World T20 and Women’s Ashes but as her career was coming back on track, her back got injured.

Kimmince made a return after a couple of months in the inaugural Big Bash season, captaining Brisbane Heats. In 2016, she tried her hand at AFL as well, where the all-rounder played two seasons before getting delisted.

Since her re-comeback in cricket, Kimmince has cemented her place in the Australian setup and was even part of the winning squads from the World T20s of 2018 and 2020. Kimmince has now become a seasoned campaigner with a solidified position in the Australian cricket team.
