Player Bio

Katie George, a left-arm pacer, is an English cricketer, who has represented the national side in the past. Hailing from West Sussex, George took her first steps in professional cricket while debuting for Hampshire in the 2013 Women's County Championship.

After a two-year hiatus, George returned to play for Hampshire, enjoying decent success in the County Championship and Women's T20 Cup in 2015. As years went by, the 23-year-old gained valuable experience, featuring for various domestic sides - Southern Vipers, Yorkshire Diamonds and Western Storm - across different competitions.

The Haywards Heath-born made her international debut for England in the 2018 tri-series against Australia and India. While a practice game prior to the series saw him taking a hat-trick, her performance at the mainstage was unimpressive.

Her international career so far has spanned over five ODIs and two T20Is, with her last match being against New Zealand in July 2018. Albeit receiving a rookie contract by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2019 and being one of the initial 24 players to begin training post-COVID-19, George is yet to make another appearance for England.

Shortly, George will don the Welsh Fire jersey as she will play for the franchise in the second edition of The Hundred.
