Player Bio

Georgia Wareham is an Australian women’s cricketer, who plays for the national team as a leg spinner.

She was a part of the Australian Under-19 squad that toured South Africa. Wareham was impressive with her leg-spin, playing 6 matches and picking up 9 wickets with the best of 4 for 17 against the Emerging South Africa team.

In the same year, she was rewarded with her maiden international call-up, in the Women’s T20I series against New Zealand. She picked up a solitary wicket in her debut match and was economical with the ball.

Wareham’s dream year continued with a maiden ODI call-up against Pakistan Women’s team, and the spinner was at her best, picking up 2 wickets for just 22 runs as the Aussies won the match convincingly.

For her spectacular performances at the international stage, ICC named her as one of the five breakout stars of 2018.

She was in the squad for the Women’s T20I World Cup in 2020 as Australia clinched their fifth world title.

In an ODI match against New Zealand post the 2020 World Cup, Wareham troubled the Kiwi batswomen and picked up 2 for 23 to propel Australia to a crushing victory over their rivals.

Wareham has had a positive start to her international career. Time after time she has performed with the ball for the Australian team, and her ability to break partnerships at will makes her a wily customer with the ball in hand.
