Player Bio

A notorious inswinger of the white ball, Udeshika Prabodhani is a left-arm medium-pacer who plays professional cricket for the Pakistan national team.

An impressive performance in the domestic circuit in 2008 saw her getting picked in the national pool and made her ODI debut against Pakistan in February 2009. In just her maiden T20 World Cup in 2009, she registered impressive bowling figures of 2/20 against Pakistan and 2/24 against England in her first two matches itself.

Her career-defining moment came against India in the 2013 World Cup. She picked the massive wicket of Mithali Raj which gave Sri Lanka their first ODI win against the Indians, knocking them out of their own World Cup. Udeshika has been the leading wicket-taker for Sri Lanka in every T20 World Cup she played.

Currently, the leading wicket-taker in T20Is for Sri Lanka, the Darga Town-born all-rounder is often considered as one to get Sri Lanka on board chipping in with breakthroughs here and there. Known as the ‘Silent Killer’ in the squad, she is unobtrusive about her work and likes to keep it to herself in the dressing room.
