Player Bio

One of the most promising batswomen in Pakistan’s domestic cricket setup, Muneeba Ali is a professional cricketer for the Pakistan national team and also represented in Karachi U-19s Women.

Muneeba stepped into the domestic scene in 2014 making her debut in the Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah Women Cricket Championship. In her first List A appearance, she didn’t get the opportunity to bat thanks to the brilliant opening partnership, her services weren’t required.

Muneeba made her international debut a few months at the age of 18. The Karachi-born batswoman was a part of the Pakistani side that took on West Indies Women at Chennai on March 16th, 2016. Coming on to bat in a tricky situation, Ali scored 15 runs in 16 balls in a close contest. A couple of years later, she made her ODI debut against Sri Lanka Women on March 20th, 2018. Her ODI debut was a forgettable one as she failed to open the scoresheet but this time the Women in Green won the match.

Muneeba’s international career has been filled with ups and downs. After being included in the Pakistan national squad on the back of her impressive domestic performances, the southpaw has not able to replicate her domestic form into the international circuit and was subsequently dropped from the squad. She made a comeback into the team and was named in Pakistan’s squad for the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup banking on her performances in the National Triangular T20 Women’s Championship. The left-hander scored 292 runs off five innings during the Triangular Series, including an impressive 108 from just 69 balls for PCB Challengers in one of the games. In December 2020, she was shortlisted as one of Women's Cricketer of the Year for the 2020 PCB Awards.
