Player Bio

Afy Fletcher is a Grenadian native leg-spinner who represents West Indies internationally. She is a mysterious spinner who has a bag full of tricks in her bowling armoury. A World Cup winner and a Level-1 certified coach, Fletcher is currently serving West Indies and has become a key member for them in the last decade or so.

Having made her debut in 2008, the spinner played her maiden ODI against Ireland and got her T20I cap against the Netherlands at the tender age of 21. Fletcher was part of the West Indies’ squad during the 2009 World Cup where she played five games and scalped two wickets. However, an unsuccessful World Cup saw her being dropped from the national squad.

The Grenada-born leggie made a comeback in 2015 with her armory full of tricks alongside more control and accuracy. In 2016, she was named in the squad for the World T20 and helped her side to the prestigious World title. The next year, Fletcher played the 50-over World Cup and was also selected for the 2018 and 2020 T20 World Cups.

Fletcher is a rare commodity present in West Indies Cricket. In her initial years, the spinner might have struggled to stamp her class but since the comeback, the veteran has sharpened her skills to become a world-class spinner.
