Player Bio

Born in Palmerston, Hannah Rowe is a New Zealand Women’s cricketer, who predominantly plays as a bowler for the team. A lanky right-arm medium pace bowler, Rowe uses her height to her advantage and is a hit-the deck hard kind of a bowler.

She made her ODI debut for White Ferns in 2015 against England Women. She had an unimpressive debut, conceding 35 runs in 4 overs as England Women won the match pretty convincingly.

Rowe made her mark towards the backend of the 2017 Women’s World Cup held in England, picking up the player of the match award against West Indies, and picking up 2 wickets against India Women in a match that the White Ferns lost by 186 runs.

In a WT20I game against Pakistan, Rowe finished with figures of 3 for 22 and restricted the opposition for a paltry 89 for 8. She troubled the Pakistani batswoman with her bowling and garnered praise from everyone.

In 2018, she was awarded a Central contract by the New Zealand Cricket Board and was subsequently included in the 2018 Women’s World T20 squad.

Rowe has played the majority of her domestic cricket for Central Hinds, and in 2019 was given the leadership responsibility to lead the team for the 2019 season.

A tall, hit the deck bowler, Rowe has made a name for herself in a short amount of time. She is still raw and has a lot to learn. Rowe has all the attributes of a great fast bowler and she should be preserved to make sure that the pacer plays for a few more years for the White Ferns.
