Player Bio

Anya Shrubsole is a medium pacer who exploits the opposition batters with her inswing bowling. The premier pacer has been representing England since 2008 and has been with her native county, Somerset, since she was 12 years old. Shrubsole is best known for her Player of the Tournament performance in the World T20 of 2014.

She made a quick name in the English domestic circles after the figures of 7 for 28 against Surrey in 2007 and backed it up in European Championship later that season. The pacer was fast-tracked in the national team to make her ODI and T20I debuts in 2008.

The Somerset-born was called up to England's squad for the 2009 World Cup but unfortunately played just a single game in the tournament. However, post the ICC event, Shrubsole has become the spearhead of English bowling, alongside Katherine Brunt.

The pacer made her Test debut during the Ashes of 2013. The following year, Shrubsole played a vital cog in England’s triumph during the 2014 T20 World Cup, where she was the highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 13 scalps at a stunning average of 7.53.

As Shrubsole’s career progressed, she took gigantic steps from strength to strength to become England’s vice-captain, following the retirement of Charlotte Edwards, in 2016. She was also a member of the winning team at the 2017 World Cup, where the pacer bagged 6 for 46 in the final of the event.

The medium-pacer has regularly been performing miracles with the ball for England, since her debut. She has the potential to become the finest bowler to play for England.
