Inoka Ranaweera


Born on February 18, 1986, in Balapitiya, Sri Lanka, Inoka Ranaweera is a Sri Lankan cricketer representing her country in both ODI and T20I formats. She is a slow left-arm orthodox bowler and earlier captained the Sri Lankan team in One Day International (ODI). 


Inoka made her ODI debut on April 25, 2012, against West Indies, where she bowled with an economy of 5.83. 


In 2016 and 2017, the Balapitiya-born cricketer won the Sri Lanka Cricket award for the Women's ODI Bowler of the Year. 


Later in October 2021, the 36-year-old was chosen for Sri Lanka's team for the 2021 Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier tournament in Zimbabwe. In addition, she was named to Sri Lanka's squad for the 2022 Commonwealth Games Cricket Qualifier tournament in Malaysia in January 2022.


Inoka is the first Sri Lankan woman to take an ODI hat-trick. In an ODI against New Zealand in November 2015, she took three wickets from the last three balls of the innings and set a record.
