Player Bio

An opening batswoman and a quality leg-spin bowler from Sialkot, Ayesha Zafar was earmarked to be the future of Pakistan's cricket at an early stage. Hailing from the Under-17, Under-19, and Under-21 levels, Ayesha is a technically enabled batter and also a prolific hitter of the cricket ball.

A 20-year-old Ayesha made her international debut against West Indies, in 2015, in the shortest format. A week later, she found her way into the 50-over format as well. However, it took a year for the opener to stamp her class at the international level. In 2016, Ayesha scored fifty against New Zealand Down Under and celebrated the milestone with another one in the very next match.

After performing well for Pakistan at top of the order, Ayesha booked her ticket for the 2017 World Cup. She scored an unbeaten 56 against host England in the opening match but had a poor campaign after that.

A year later, the promising batter featured in the World T20 and had a subtle tournament, which meant the promising batter was dropped. Ayesha made a comeback after a year during the T20Is against Bangladesh, in 2019. However, Ayesha was ignored from the squad for the 2020 World T20.

Ayesha is unarguably a rock-solid batswoman who loves playing her strokes. She has been regularly representing Pakistan for the last couple of years. The strokemaker is a high-caliber cricketer but she still has to stamp her authority on the highest level.
