Player Bio

Highly rated in the Sri Lankan domestic cricket, Hasini has played in three T20I World Cups for the Islanders and made her international debut in 2014.

Hasini has performed well for Combined Province Women in domestic cricket and as a result, was drafted in the Sri Lankan squad for the 2014 Women’s World T20I tournament. She made her T20I debut in a group stage match against Bangladesh, but was unimpressive with the bat, scoring just 1 run with the bat.

In the same year, the left-handed batswoman made her ODI debut against South Africa in the 2014 ICC Women’s Championship. She struggled against a barrage of short-pitched bowling and was eventually dismissed for 8 runs.

Hasini’s struggle against quality pace attack led to her omission from the national squad for the majority of 2015. She went back to the domestic circuit and performed heavily with both bat & the ball.

In October 2018, Hasini was drafted in the Sri Lankan squad for the 2018 Women’s World T20I.

Two years later she was again a part of the squad that took the flight to Australia for the 2020 Women’s World T20I in Australia. A lot was expected of her but she failed with the bat, amassing 66 runs in four matches as Sri Lanka were eliminated in the group stages itself.

A veteran of Sri Lankan cricket who made her debut seven years ago, Hasini has not been able to set the stage on fire at the international level. She has played well in bits and pieces but her inability to convert good starts into a big score has hampered her career so far.
