Stafanie Taylor

A hard-hitting top-order batsman, a dangerous off-spinner, and an athletic fielder, Stefanie Taylor is known for her leadership skills and is the current skipper of the West Indies Women’s team.

Taylor was just 10 years old when she went on to her first cricketing tour and seven years later, she announced her arrival in international cricket with a splendid 49 balls 90 on her T20I debut on June 27th, 2008. 

At the age of 19, Taylor became the youngest woman to complete 1000 runs in ODI cricket and was the standout performer in the 2010 ICC Women’s Cricket Challenge amassing 390 runs in five matches. In 2013, the Jamaican-born all-rounder became the only player male or female cricketer in history to achieve the top spot in both batting and bowling rankings in the world.

Taylor’s record in World Cup tournaments is one to admire as well. Her 171 against Sri Lanka at the 2013 World Cup became the third-highest individual score by a woman in ODI cricket. Three years later, Taylor led her side to win the Women's World T20 title in 2016, registering a key 59 in the final against Australia. Her tournament tally of 246 runs and 8 wickets also secured her the Player of the Tournament award.

The Jamaican on July 4th,2021 scripted history as she became the second West Indies woman to take a hat-trick in T20Is. The West Indies skipper achieved the feat in the third and final T20I against Pakistan and finished with the figures of 4/17 in her 4 overs quota. Taylor has been a proven match-winner throughout her career. The star performer for the Women in Maroon has notched up 70 matches in the Women’s Big Bash League(WBBL) stockpiling 1300 runs and 50 wickets including the club’s Championship-winning season in the inaugural edition of the WBBL.
