Player Bio

Michael Leask is an explosive all rounder who plays for Scotland national cricket team.

Born in Aberdeen, Leask is a right-handed batsman known for his long range hitting, and a part time off-break bowler.

Leask played for Scotland Under-13, Under-15, Under-17 and Under-19 before joining the senior level.

Leask got his ODI debut against Canada in 2014, and it was a disappointing debut as the Scotish lad was dismissed for just 12.

However, he showed the world his true hitting ability in an ODI game against England in the very same year.  He smashed five humongous sixes during a memorable 16-ball 42 against a top quality bowling lineup.

After seeing the highs, it was time for Leask to be at an all time low as the youngster witnessed his first failure at the international level in the 2014 World Cup Qualifiers, scoring just 56 runs at an average of just over 9.

Apart from his batting, Leask is also a wily off spinner and because of his allround abilities, Somerset County in England decided to sign him for the 2016 season.

He was a part of the Edinburgh Rocks squad for the inaugural edition of the Euro T20 Slam cricket tournament.

An excellent all rounder in his own right, Leask has been a valuable asset for the Scotish side ever since his debut.
