Player Bio

A guileful slow left-arm orthodox bowler, Hamza Tahir plays cricket for Scotland national team. A genuine wicket-taking bowler, Tahir is a captain’s go-to bowler and he has this knack of picking up wickets at regular junctures.

Tahir has played a lot for Scotland A and had some impressive performances which tempted the selectors to have a look at him.

Eventually, Tahir was called up to the Scotland senior squad for their T20I series against Pakistan in 2018. The following year, Scotland toured Oman and Tahir made his List-A debut against them.

2019 was a special year for the canny bowler as he got a chance to play for the Scotland ODI side for the first time. Tahir had a dream ODI debut against PNG as he scalped 4 for 37 to rattle the PNG middle order.

He continued to produce staggering T20I numbers for Scotland and was drafted in Scotland’s provisional squad for the 2021 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
