Player Bio

A seam bowler with great control over line and length, Alasdair Evans is a right-arm medium pace bowler who plays for Scotland national cricket team.

Born in Kent to Scotish parents, Evans was a part of the Scotland Under-13 team and nurtured his game at the youth level.

He made his first class debut for Loughborough UCCE in 2009, and in the same year earned his maiden international callup in the ODI series against Canada. He bowled 7 overs in the match and went wicketless as Canada won by six wickets.

On the back of a stellar performance in the CB40 in 2012, Evans signed a deal with Derbyshire county club.

At the start of 2014, Evans was omitted from the Scotland squad ahead of the World Cup Qualifiers. However, strong performances in the domestic season saw him crawl back into the national setup.

In 2019, he was selected in the Glasgow Giants squad for the inaugural season of the Euro T20 Slam cricket tournament.

Having made his debut in 2009, Evans is yet to replicate his domestic performance at the international level. He has done well in bits and pieces, but is yet to win the confidence of the skipper.
