Player Bio

A Zimbabwean-born Dutch cricketer, Shane Snater is the cousin of Jason Roy who plays for the England national cricket team.

A canny right-arm medium pace bowler, Snater made his first-class debut for Netherlands against Afghanistan in the 2015-17 ICC Intercontinental Cup.

In 2018, Snater joined Essex County and the following year, he played a game for Kent as their bowlers suffered a number of injuries ahead of their match against the touring Pakistan side.

Snater gained experience in the English domestic setup and was eventually called up to the national squad for their T20I match against Ireland in 2018. He bowled an economical spell of 2 for 25 and was Netherland’s standout player in that game.

In the very same year, Snater earned his maiden ODI cap when the Netherlands faced Nepal in an ODI series.

In September 2021, Snater was named as one of two reserve players in the Dutch squad for the ICC T20 World Cup. More good news followed the speedster as he was drafted in the Dutch squad for their ODI series against South Africa that commences from November 26.
