When this wrong-footed fast bowler hogged the limelight against India in 2018, he was considered to be a wicket-taking bowler and was considered a future prospect for South Africa. He bagged 7 wickets in his maiden T20I series against India and despite leaking runs, his wicket-taking abilities were there for everyone to see. His skiddy nature had many Indian batsmen in trouble. His deceptive pace makes it difficult for opposition batsmen to face him.

Having played for the Titans in the South African domestic circuit under the watchful guidance of Mark Boucher, he was fast-tracked into the national side pretty early. Having made his first-class debut for Gauteng way back in 2011, the 30-year-old didn’t manage to make a name for himself straightaway. Having impressed Boucher in the Titans squad, he made a great start to his international career. He bagged the wickets of Rohit Sharma thrice in the series and also prized out big fishes Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni.

Dala having impressed all and sundry with his raw pace and skiddy nature was brought in as a replacement for Chris Morris by the Delhi Daredevils in the 2018 IPL. He played a solitary match but didn’t manage to bag a wicket. It was in 2019 when Dala was named as the Momentum One Day Cup Cricketer of the season after some sensational performances with the ball. He is currently on the South African selection radar but hasn’t quite managed to cement his place in the side.
