Player Bio

A Dutch-born Australian cricketer, Tim van der Gugten is a right-arm pace bowler who plays for Netherlands cricket. He has played domestic cricket for Tasmania and New South Wales, back in Australia.

Born in Sydney, Van der Gugten made his T20I debut against Canada in 2012. The North Shore- born was a part of the Dutch squad for the 2012 World T20 Qualifiers.

Two years later, Van der Gugten was called up to the Dutch squad for the 2014 World T20 held in Bangladesh, and carried one of their most potent threats in the tournament, scalping 9 wickets in seven games at an average of just over 18.

County season came calling and in 2016, the former New South Wales and Tasmania cricketer signed a deal with Glamorgan, taking 82 wickets across all competitions and dominating the end of the season county awards.

The following season was disrupted due to a shoulder injury and as a result, van der Gugten missed the majority of the county season for Glamorgan.

In 2019, he was named for the Netherlands squad for the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifiers.

A man possessing immense skills with the ball in hand, Van der Gugten has been a great player for his nation, especially in the shortest form of the game, delivering on a consistent basis.
