Player Bio

An aggressive right-handed wicket-keeper batsman, Matthew Cross was the vice-captain of the Scotland team for the Under-19 World Cup in 2012.

He broke into the national setup in 2013 and was one of the key reasons as to why Scotland qualified for the 2015 World Cup Qualifiers.

He made his Scotland debut in a T20I game against Kenya in 2013. Cross had a disappointing game by his standards, scoring just 11 runs in the innings.

A year later he broke into the Scotland ODI squad to face Canada at the Hagley Oval.

He struggled in the white ball format and in the summer of 2014 the selectors decided to move him down the order for the World Cup acclimatisation tour.

Ahead of the 2019 Euro T20 Slam tournament, Cross was drafted in the Glasgow Giants squad.

A hard hitting player who loves the pace on the ball, Cross has struggled at the international level and has not been able to acclimatise against the stronger oppositions.
