Player Bio

An extremely talented right-arm pacer, Alzarri Joseph is a professional cricketer for the West Indies national team. Fast-tracked into the u-19 squad as a teenager, he was the leading wicket-taker in the 2016 U-19 World Cup, leading them to to the prestigious title. The Antiguan recorded the fastest ball at 143 kph in the tournament and earned praises from the entire cricketing fraternity.

The youngster made his first-class debut in November 2014 at the tender age of 17 and a year later made his List A debut in the Super50 tournament. After a string of impressive performances in the domestic circuit, he was handed his maiden ODI cap against Pakistan in October 2016. More than a useful batsman, he played a match-saving knock of 86 against New Zealand in December 2020.

Joseph grabbed headlines worldwide after his debut for Mumbai Indians against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League in 2019. His astonishing figures of 6-12 are the best by any bowler in the competitionā€™s history. Joseph was signed by Worcestershire ahead of the 2021 Championship season as an overseas player.

At 24 years of age, Joseph is yet to make his T20I debut and cement his place in all three formats but with his talent and skillset, it is about time, we see him leading the bowling attack of the Men in Maroon.
