Player Bio

The son of former Zimbabwe cricketer, Kyle Malcolm Jarvis is a right-arm pace bowler who is equipped with raw pace and has the ability to swing the ball both ways.

He first caught the eyes of the selectors at the 2008 U-19 World Cup in Kuala Lumpur. The Harare-born was their star player and was quickly tracked by the national selectors for the future.

A year later he made his international debut against Kenya and immediately impressed everyone with figures of 3/36, bowling consistently at over 140 clicks.

In the very same year, Zimbabwe faced South Africa and Jarvis struggled against a top-quality batting lineup, conceding 76 runs in 10 overs at Centurion.

In 2011, the 'Chevrons' played their first Test match in almost six years and Jarvis made his debut in that game against Bangladesh. He was decent in the match, scalping a solitary wicket, but bowling at a good pace.

Jarvis was included in the Zimbabwe squad which toured West Indies in 2013. In the first Test match at Barbados, Jarvis picked up 5 for 54 as the West Indies batsmen had no answer to his hostile bowling.

In 2013, Jarvis announced his retirement to play County Cricket as he joined Lancashire, signing the Kolpak Deal. Four years later in 2017, the Lancashireman took a U-turn and returned back to Zimbabwe to make a comeback for the national side.

A pacer with raw pace and great control over line and length, Jarvis’s career couldn’t reach the desirable heights, partially due to the state of Zimbabwe Cricket presently.
