Player Bio

Born on September 10, 1992, Pakistan’s Mir Hamza is known for his left-arm pace bowling. Hamza can also contribute as a lower-order batter.

In April 2018, Hamza earned a spot in Balochistan's squad for the Pakistan Cup. His talent didn't go unnoticed, as in August 2018, he earned a central contract for the 2018–19 season from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

The following year, in January, he ventured beyond Pakistan's borders, signing with Sussex to participate in nine first-class games during the 2019 County Championship in the United Kingdom.

Hamza was named in Pakistan's Test squad for their series against Sri Lanka in September 2017, but he didn’t make an appearance. He finally made his Test debut against Australia in October 2018. The Karachi-born failed to make an impact in his maiden Test, resulting in his being sidelined for almost four years from international cricket.

His long wait came to an end in December 2022 when he returned to Pakistan's Test squad for their series against New Zealand. The left-arm quick had a disappointing series, grabbing a solitary scalp in the two-match Test series.

Hamza emerged as the second-highest wicket-taker (32 wickets) in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2023-24, proving his worth. His outstanding display earned him a place in Pakistan's Test squad for their tour of Australia in 2023-24.
