Player Bio
Akshita Suryaprakash Maheshwari is a right-handed batter and a right-arm medium-pace bowler. She was born on October 10, 2000, in Jaipur, Rajasthan. She represents Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025 season and the Rajasthan Women’s team at the domestic level.

As a youngster, Maheshwari was a lively kid who loved sports. Playing cricket with children in the neighbourhood, she began her cricketing career and ended up breaking countless windows. Her parents persisted in supporting her and urged her to follow her passion despite social conventions.

A significant moment came in her life when she visited the KL Saini Stadium with her brother and saw girls playing cricket. Soon after, she enrolled at the academy, where Vishal Tiwari coached her.

"Even the first ball I bowled there fell exactly on the good length as it's supposed to," the coach had said in a contemplative interview.

She took 23 wickets in the Under-23 Women's One Trophy, making her the competition's second-highest wicket-taker. Two hat-tricks against Mizoram and Odisha, both in Mumbai, were part of her incredible accomplishment.

Maheshwari started grabbing opportunities, and soon, her name was called up in the 2025 WPL auction. Mumbai Indians included her in the squad for INR 20 lakh. She didn’t just mark a milestone in her career but also became the first-ever female cricketer from Rajasthan to join WPL.

Off the field, she acknowledges that a major factor in her success has been her family's unwavering support. Her ability to multitask is demonstrated by her current pursuit of a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree from Chandigarh.

Although she wants to give the team her all, her ultimate objective is to represent India and play at the highest level.
