Born on the island of Jamaica, John Campbell is a special talent and has the ability to hit the long ball on a consistent basis. He is a utility player who is also a big-hitting phenomenon in the Windies circuit and also has the ability to chip in with some important overs with his handy off-breaks. He played for West Indies U-19 teams in the 2010 and 2012 World Cups before plying his trade in the domestic circuit. He idolises Chris Gayle and being an aggressive opening batsman himself, he emulates ‘The Universe Boss’ in the demeanour he played the game at his prime. The Jamaican has gone onto play a few special knocks for whichever teams he has played for.
He was also part of the victorious Jamaica U-19 squad in the regional championship and also impressed with his big-hitting abilities. Campbell didn’t manage to make a mark in the two U-19 World Cups he played in 2010 and 2012.
