Player Bio

Anukul Roy, a left-arm spinning all-rounder turned out to be one of the key players for India U-19’s triumph in the 2018 World Cup in New Zealand. He picked up as many as 14 wickets to end up as the joint-highest wicket-taker while also providing useful cameos in the tournament.

Anukul went onto quickly make his List-A debut against Services and made a massive impression in that tournament. Anukul contributed 219 runs and 15 wickets in nine matches. He carried that form into the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy by producing 374 runs and 30 wickets from nine matches. The 2019-20 season didn’t go as well but he still produced decent campaigns in both the Vijay Hazare and Ranji Trophy tournaments.

In the IPL, he was picked by Mumbai Indians ahead of the 2018 IPL season before playing one match against Chennai Super Kings the following year. In that game, Anukul picked up the wicket of Dhruv Shorey while bowling two economical overs.

In the upcoming years, Anukul Roy could easily set the domestic circuit on fire in all formats of the game due to his impressive all-around skillset. If he manages to do it consistently, the ultimate dream of representing the senior Indian team might turn into reality.
