Player Bio

Shashank Singh is an unsparing batting all-rounder who has a decent off-break in his arsenal. The Mumbai-born cricketer plays domestic cricket for the Chhattisgarh state team. His power-hitting prowess has the range to take the bowlers to the cleaners and has been sought after by many IPL franchises since 2017.

Shashank made his List A debut on 10th December 2015 in the 2015-16 Vijay Hazare trophy against Punjab. Considering his impressive domestic performances helped him fetch an IPL contract worth INR 10 lakhs from Delhi Daredevils ahead of the 2017 edition of IPL but didn’t get to feature in the coveted tournament.

On 9th December 2019, Shashank played his maiden first-class match for Chhattisgarh against Odisha in the 2019-20 Ranji Trophy tournament. Ahead of the 2019 IPL, he was bought by Rajasthan Royals for INR 30 lakhs and retained for IPL 2020 and 2021. He is yet to make his debut in IPL but his hustle keeps him going.

Shashank’s latest foreshow in Chhattisgarh's Mumbai conquest was vital where he played an important partnership with the centurion Amandeep Khare by making 40 off 43 balls in a 97 run-stand that brought the target down to double-digits.

Shashank’s almost 30 and his hopes to play for the national side has been diminished but he’s still optimistic for a run in the Indian Premier League to showcase his range of skills as an all-rounder.
