Player Bio

An explosive all-rounder, Mahipal Lomror represented the national side at the age of 16 as he was the second-youngest player of India in the U-19 ICC Cricket World Cup 2016.

He was the only player to pick up a five-wicket haul against New-Zealand on their home soil in the said event.

After a majestic U-19 World Cup, Lomror was bagged by Delhi Daredevil in the 2016 IPL auctions for his base price of INR 10 lakhs. He made his first-class debut for Rajasthan in 2016-17 Ranji Trophy on October 6.

Apart from the aggressive style of batting, his slow left-arm orthodox fetched him a bundle of wickets in domestic cricket. He made his List A debut on February 25, 2017 in Vijay Hazare Trophy.

The Nagaur-born prospect’s best performances came in the 2017-18 Ranji trophy where he was the joint leading wicket-taker for Rajasthan with 13 dismissals in 6 matches. In August 2019, he was named in the India Red team's squad for the 2019–20 Duleep Trophy.

After a string of impressive domestic all-round performances, Lomror caught the selector’s eye of Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 2018 IPL auction and the youngster also premiered in a couple of matches for the franchise. Being sidelined for a major chunk of the tournament, he was still retained by the RR in 2020 and 2021.

Mahipal Lomror named “ Junior Chris Gayle” by the former Indian cricketer Chandrakant Pandit, he still has a glowing future ahead of him at both club and international level.
