Player Bio
Hailing from Andhra Pradesh, promising speedster Satyanarayana Raju first demonstrated his bowling might during the 2024 edition of the Andhra Premier League. Aged 25 at the time, the cricketer picked up eight wickets in just seven innings of the tournament at an average of 20.

Raju’s economy rate of just 6.15 in an otherwise high-scoring T20 competition elevated his stocks by a few notches as it became a precursor to his List A and T20 debuts for Andhra, as well as an IPL contract with the Mumbai Indians franchise at the IPL 2025 mega auction.

A bright student academically, Raju completed his bachelor's in Visakhapatnam and MBA from SRM University, but he never relinquished his dream of becoming a top-flight cricketer. Having spent much of his younger days under the tutelage of former first-class cricketer Rafhi Ahmad Kidvai as well as under Pasupuleti Satyanarayana, the youngster enhanced his raw pace and turned it into a potential game-changing weapon for his future teams.

Months prior to his breakthrough Andhra Premier League season in 2024, Satyanarayana Raju received his maiden first-class cap in Mumbai during the 2023-24 Ranji Trophy. The speedster picked up just two wickets on debut before signifying his true excellence in both white-ball formats.

In Satyanarayana’s first four List A matches since his 50-overs debut, all forming a part of the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy season, he picked up seven wickets at an impressive average of just 19.85, which included a match-winning three-fer against Sikkim.

Considering the fact that Satyanarayana Raju’s prolific beginnings in his debut white-ball season for Andhra occurred just weeks after the IPL 2025 mega auction, it ensured the Mumbai Indians management that their talent scouts were vindicated in their decision of trusting the speedster’s abilities for their impending campaign.
