Player Bio

Zoe Cooke is a courageous cricketer who fought her way back from a career-threatening back injury. She is an allrounder, for ACT Meteors and Brisbane Heat, who is well known for her athleticism on the field.

Born in Canberra, Cooke is a quick... really quick both as a pacer and also as a fielder. She also has the ability to move the new ball, which makes the pacer even more lethal. She was first included in the ACT Meteors squad as a 15-year-old rookie, before becoming a senior in 2018 and has become a regular for the club now.

Cooke was contracted by Melbourne Renegades for the 2018-19 edition of the Women’s Big Bash, but she could only carry drinks for other players that season.

The following year, the youngster went through a devastating back injury, which was touted to be career-threatening by her doctors. However, the allrounder made an inspiring comeback during the 2020 season and caught the eye of Brisbane Heat’s coach - Ashley Noffke during her WNCL season.

Cooke was then signed by the Heat and would be willing to make her WBBL debut with the franchise. Her ability to swing the ball, move quickly as a fielder, and ability to use the long handle - makes her a T20 package.
