Player Bio

Born on January 4, 1995, in Mananthavady, Wayanad, Kerala, Sajeevan Sajana is a promising right-handed batter and a right-arm off-break bowler.

The daughter of an auto driver, Sajeevan's passion for cricket ignited at the age of 17. She made remarkable progress, attributing her success to the support of those around her. From playing with a plastic ball and bat made of coconut frond (madal- in regional language), she evolved into a key player for Kerala in the Women's Domestic Circuit.

Sajeevan’s dedication and skill earned her recognition. She led Kerala U-19 team to third place in the Inter-State T20 competition and earned the title of Kerala’s Women's Cricketer of the Year in 2015.

Sajeevan’s breakthrough came when she led Kerala's U-23 Women's Cricket Team to victory in the T20 Super League 2018-19, held in Mumbai. Sajeevan's exceptional performance included 14 wickets and an unbeaten hundred.

She made headlines when she was purchased by Mumbai Indians (MI) for INR 15 lakh in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 auction, becoming the second cricketer from the Kurichiya tribe to enter the WPL. It’s pertinent to mention that Minnu Mani is the first cricketer from the same tribe to enter the WPL.
