Player Bio

Hailing from Queensland, Julia Cavanaugh is an allrounder who can swing the ball and whack them coming down the order.

The teenager was good at the age group level. However, her ability to swing the ball caused problems for the kids around her. She slowly went through the U-13 and U-15 stages, and at the age of 16, she was playing in the Women's first-grade competition for the Sandgate Radcliffe.

2020 was a prolific season for the Queensland-born cricketer, who scalped 13 victims in 18 games. She also garnered 138 runs in the 12 innings.

Julia's exceptional performance in that season came against Sunshine Coast, where she made 57 runs and picked two wickets. She qualified for the semi-final, where they lost to Western Suburbs.

The prodigious allrounder featured in the 2021 Flash competition, where she made 15 runs and picked a sole wicket, then played six games in the 2021 Women's first grade, managing only 24 runs and a wicket.

Cavanaugh moved to Tasmania and joined the Raiders. Her debut came at the North Twenty20 season opener against North Hobart. Later was selected for Tasmania Tigers, the reigning champions of the Women's National Cricket league.

Hobart Hurricanes handed the 18-year-old her first-ever Women's Big Bash League contract for the 2022-23 season.
