Player Bio

Idolising Australia’s Mitchell Starc, Rajan Kumar is a left-arm fast bowler and an Indian domestic cricketer who plays for Uttarakhand.

Uttarakhand's decision to hand Rajan his debut cap was immediately rewarded as he started delivering outstanding performances.

Playing his first domestic season, the left-armer was Uttarakhand’s highest wicket-taker in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022-23, fetching 10 wickets in seven innings at an economy of 5.88.

Stepping into the List-A arena in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022-23, the Haridwar-born left-armer made an impressive mark with three wickets in his maiden appearance. He continued his stellar performance, finishing the competition with six scalps in five innings at an economy of 4.40.

Adding to his series of successes, an IPL contract came knocking, with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) signing him for Rs. 70 lakh in the 2023 auction. He is yet to ply his trade in the league; however, as RCB are thin on bowling resources for the 2024 season, a debut there could be in the offing.

Rajan’s climb continued as he registered his first five wicket-haul in domestic cricket in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023-24. Playing his last game of the season, he attained the figures of 5-28, taking Uttarakhand to a 75-run win over Bihar.

He made his First-Class debut against Madhya Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy 2023-24 and took 6 wickets in 4 innings in the tournament.
