Player Bio

A ferocious hitter of the cricket ball, Kiran Navgire is an Indian middle-order batter. She was born in May 1995 in Solapur, Maharashtra. In 2009-10, Navgire was a part of the State Athletics team and has won more than 100 medals to date.

In her college days, she took an active part in games like cricket, javelin throw, shot put, and 100-meter races. The talented batter made his domestic debut in the 2018-19 season for Maharashtra. However, Navgire opted to play for Nagaland in the 2021/22 edition of the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy, due to a lack of opportunities in her home state.

In seven appearances, the 27-year-old amassed 525 runs at a prolific average of 131.25 and a strike rate of 172.69. In this pursuit, she slammed 162* off 76 and became the first Indian player to hit a 150+ score in the T20 format. The knock helped her to be named in the Velocity squad for the 2022 Women’s T20 Challenge.

In her debut game at the Women’s T20 Challenge, the right-handed batter hit 69 off 34 balls against Trailblazers. The knock saw her power-hitting abilities, which stunned the cricket fraternity.

Soon, Navgire was named in India’s squad for the England Tour. In her debut T20I in September 2022, the swashbuckling batter could contribute only 7 off 13 balls. She is also a part of the national team for the 2022 Women’s Asia Cup.
