Player Bio

Hailing from Rajasthan, Ashok Sharma represents the ‘Galaxy of Knights’ in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He appeared for the Rajasthan U-19 team back in 2019 but failed to glue a permanent spot due to varied reasons such as - the Covid-19 pandemic, the death of his coach, and personal illness.

The last few years have been tough for Ashok, but luckily he appeared for the ‘Red Bull trials’ in 2021, where he caught the attention of the scouts and was snapped by Rajasthan Royals (RR) as a net bowler.

The youngster bowls at a decent pace, and his height allows him to extract extra bounce off the surface. He is yet to play senior professional cricket but seems geared up for the cash-rich league.

RR fielding coach Dishant Yagnik was impressed by his fluent run-up and the pace he generates during his delivery stride. Therefore, he asked the young pacer to prepare for the IPL 2022 trials. Impressed by his performance in the trials, both Knight Riders and Royals went after him in the IPL 2022 mega-auction, and now we will see him ply his trade for the two-time IPL champs.
