Player Bio

Anshul Kamboj, an Indian domestic pacer who plays for Haryana, has a repertoire of skills needed for white-ball cricket. Kamboj’s best has come while playing the 50-over and the 20-over tournaments so far.

The youngster made his First-Class debut in February 2022 versus Tripura in the Ranji Trophy. He claimed five wickets in the season, however, his arrival at the senior level did not go as he would have liked.

As the domestic season shifted to the white-ball formats, Kamboj found himself at ease, beginning with the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2022, where he took four wickets in two innings at an economy rate of 6.57.

He levelled up his game even further in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022, snapping up six wickets across five innings at an economy of 4.35.

While the Ranji Trophy 2022-23 left a lot to be desired, the Haryana-born dominated the limited-overs scene yet again.

In SMAT 2023, the fast-bowler picked up seven scalps in as many innings, with his economy rate being just over seven. It was just a precursor to what unfolded in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2023 that transformed Kamboj into a beast.

Kamboj bagged 17 wickets in 10 innings at an economy of 3.59 with his career-best figures of 4-30, which came in the semi-final bout against Tamil Nadu. He even took two wickets in the final of the competition versus Rajasthan, helping Haryana create history by lifting their maiden Vijay Hazare title.

This led to Mumbai Indians taking notice of Kamboj as he eventually was rewarded with an IPL contract of INR 20 lakhs by the franchise for the 2024 edition.
