Player Bio

Abishek Porel is a bright keeper-batter who represents Bengal in Indian domestic cricket. He first featured in Bengal T20 for Durgapur Dazzlers and impressed selectors with performances in club cricket.

Porel got an opportunity with the Bengal state team in the Ranji Trophy 2021-22 against Baroda. He scored an unbeaten 53 off 70 in the second innings and showed promise in his first appearance.

In the 2022-23 season, the elegant batter made his List-A as well as T20 debut. He did well to garner 336 runs in 14 innings in the Ranji Trophy 2022-23. Porel scored fifties in the semi-final and final, but the latter one ended in a losing cause.

Delhi Capitals invited Porel for a week-long preparatory camp ahead of the Indian Premier League 2023. After impressing Sourav Ganguly and Ricky Ponting, the 20-year-old was named as an injury replacement for Rishabh Pant for the IPL 2023.
