Player Bio

Born on December 15 1949, Rashid Khan is a former Pakistan medium-fast bowler.

He made his first-class debut in the 1975/76 domestic season. Rashid finally made it to the international stage in an ODI fixture against West Indies in December 1980. He was impressive with the figures of 2/31 in eight overs.

However, the talented pacer did not feature in any of the games for the next 15 months.

The Karachi-born made his return to Pakistan XI, wherein he featured in his maiden Test match against Sri Lanka in March 1982. He performed well again with the contribution of three wickets and 59 runs to help the team in winning the fixture.

In the subsequent red-ball fixture, Rashid scored an unbeaten 43. The ODI comeback could not fetch him enough success.

The skilful pacer returned in the following year and claimed his career-best figures of 3/47 in the limited-overs fixture against the New Zealand team. This performance extended his stay on the international circuit.

He last played for Pakistan in February 1985, wherein he returned wicket-less.

The right-arm pacer took 8 wickets and scored 155 runs in four Test appearances. On the other hand, he scalped 20 wickets and accumulated 110 runs in 29 ODIs.

Rashid went on to play domestic cricket until 1993/94.

In 2006, he was appointed as the head coach of the Chinese U-15 cricket team, which participated in the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Trophy.
