Player Bio

Hailing from Visakhapatnam, Kaki Nitish Kumar Reddy is a bowling all-rounder representing the Andhra Pradesh state in Indian domestic cricket.

Reddy shot into the limelight by slamming 1,237 runs in the 2017-18 Vijay Merchant Trophy, including a 414-run knock against Nagaland. Soon, he was adjudged as the best cricketer in the Under-16 category in the BCCI Awards 2018.

Since making his senior domestic debut in January 2020, the youngster has improved his performance with the ball to contribute in both departments.

In the 2022-23 edition of the Ranji Trophy, the 19-year-old shone bright to secure 34 wickets, with best match figures of 8/119. He was also handy with the bat in the lower order, scoring 160 runs in eight games.

The impressive performances helped Reddy to earn a contract with the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League 2023 auction. He made his IPL debut against Royal Challengers Bangalore in May 2023.

In IPL 2024, Reddy played 13 matches for Sunrisers Hyderabad and was one of the emerging players of the season.

He scored 303 runs in 13 matches at an average of 33.67 and also picked up 3 wickets while bowling crucial overs in the middle, not giving away too many runs.

Thanks to his form in the IPL, Nitish was named in the young Indian squad that was picked for the 5-match T20I series against Zimbabwe. However, an untimely injury forced him out of the squad and he was repalced by Shivam Dube.
