Player Bio

Gurnoor Brar is an upcoming all-rounder who plies his trade for the Punjab state team in the Indian domestic circuit.

Brar shone bright with his performances in the Red Bull Campus 2019 tournament. He took 3/16 in the final for DAV Chandigarh and helped the team to secure a victory by one run at Jaipur. Although the scouts from Rajasthan Royals were present on the ground, it was Mumbai Indians who picked Brar as a net bowler.

The Muktsar-born made his List-A debut for the state in December 2021 against Goa in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and returned with figures of 1/62.

The right-arm pacer was a part of the Mumbai Indians-owned Reliance Cricket Club’s tour of England in July 2022. He opened the bowling attack for Reliance along with Jaydev Unadkat in one of the T20 games, registered figures of 2/34, and helped the team clinch a victory.

The southpaw finally featured in his maiden First-Class match for Punjab against Railways in the 2022-23 edition of the Ranji Trophy. Brar scalped four wickets on a seam-friendly surface and impressed the team management.

Then, the Punjab-based cricketer played solid knocks of 41 and 64 against Gujarat and J&K, respectively, to show his batting prowess as well.

The 22-year-old went unsold in the IPL 2023 auction held in December 2022. However, the injury to Raj Angad Bawa paved the way for Brar to make an entry into the Punjab Kings side for his base price of INR 20 Lakhs.
